About us
Wellness-focused psychiatric care, now in West Virginia
Rass Psychiatry & Wellness Services brings compassionate, whole-person mental health care to Martinsburg and the Eastern Panhandle — in person and via telehealth across the state.
Why we exist
Mental health care should never be limited by outdated approaches or a lack of options. Every patient deserves compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to their unique needs. At Rass Psychiatry & Wellness Services, we integrate traditional psychiatric care with a functional, whole-person approach — including thorough evaluation, medication management, and holistic treatment planning — to restore hope, improve function, and help every patient live to their fullest potential.
After more than a decade serving patients in Columbia, Maryland, we're bringing the same philosophy to West Virginia: emphasize what is right within each patient, not only what is “wrong.” Undiagnosed and untreated mental illness can make basic tasks feel overwhelming and hold you back from the life you want. Our mission is to change that — one patient at a time.
Our Martinsburg office sits in the heart of downtown at 142 N Queen St, Suite 104, welcoming patients from across Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties. And through secure telehealth, that same care reaches every county in the Mountain State.

Our core values
Compassion
You'll be met with warmth, not judgment. We know it takes courage to reach out, and we honor that from the first conversation.
Holistic Care
You are a whole person — sleep, nutrition, stress, relationships, and routines all matter. Treatment plans reflect the full picture of your life.
Collaboration
Care is a partnership. We explain options in plain language, involve you in every decision, and coordinate with your other providers when helpful.

Your provider
Selam Tekie, PMHNP-BC
Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Selam Tekie is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Rass Psychiatry & Wellness Services. She offers holistic care for patients ages 6 and up through both in-person and telehealth psychiatry, specializing in mood disorders and medication management.
Selam has been a clinician for over 12 years, working in a variety of settings and practices. Her nursing background shaped a holistic point of view: while she treats and promotes mental wellness, each patient is seen as a whole person — not just the mental aspect. She is a firm believer in integrating functional psychiatry with modern psychiatry.
Fluent in English and Amharic, she provides compassionate support for anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, addiction, and more — always with a wellness-oriented, collaborative approach.
